A MAN DIES THREE TIMES IN ONE NIGHT! This perplexing headline today graces the front page of the London edition of The Times. Three individuals bearing the same identification have been found dead in a room of the Chelsea Arms Hotel. The cause of death is identical in all three cases: they were stabbed in the heart. Later, the home of an esteemed friend is burned to the ground, causing him serious injury. A mysterious note, a clandestine meeting, and the investigators embark on a thousand-mile journey on the legendary railway service that will take them to Constantinople, the Gateway to the East.
HORROR ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS contains an extensive and legendary campaign of up to nineteen adventures for the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game. From the London of the 1920s, the investigators will travel to Paris and from there to the ancient city of Constantinople. With any luck, they might even make it back home.
Optional episodes set in past eras or special places (Ancient Rome, the Middle Ages, the Victorian era and the Lands of Dream) are included so that players can experience the origins and discovery of the most fundamental aspects of the campaign. An epilogue set in the present day, an alternative ending for those who prefer a shorter campaign and a travel guide are also included to help the investigators in their tribulations.
Call of Cthulhu is a roleplaying game based on the work of numerous authors that pits ordinary people against the horrific creatures and forces of the Cthulhu Mythos.
