For months you have seen the city of the sunset in a dream, tall minarets and domes, caressed by the shadow and the reddish light of the gentle orb of fire in permanent setting to the outskirts of the city. Since then, you have crossed the border every night, looking for the city, hoping to be able to tread it. You have seen incomparable wonders: the sacred cats of Ulthar and the turquoise city of Celephaïs on the slopes of Mount Aran. You have almost abandoned your life of contemplation, eating less and less, spending more and more time asleep. But tonight is different. Here, the silver horizon, thin as the edge of a knife, between wakefulness and sleep, the black ships of the moon have caught up with you.
