H.P. Lovecraft, born in Providence on August 20, 1890 and died on March 15, 1937, was a prominent American writer known for his horror and science fiction stories. He is recognized for his innovation in the horror story, contributing to the Mythos of Cthulhu in collaboration with other authors. His work stands out for cosmic horror, straying away from traditional supernatural stories and including elements of science fiction such as alien races and alternate dimensions.
